Cum se folosește

Positions count the digits AFTER the decimal point: in 3.14159…, position 1 is 1, position 2 is 4 and position 3 is 1. The leading 3 is the whole-number part and has no position.

This page carries the first 10,000 decimal digits of Pi. They are computed exactly with arbitrary-precision integer arithmetic, so every digit shown is correct.

Pi is irrational: its digits never end and never settle into a repeating pattern, so 22/7 and 3.14 are approximations, not exact values.

Întrebări frecvente

What are the first 10 digits of Pi?

Pi to 10 decimal places is 3.1415926535. The full value is 3.14159265358979323846… — Pi is irrational, so the digits continue forever without ever repeating. This page shows up to 10,000 exact decimal digits.

Does position 1 mean the 3 or the 1?

Position 1 is the first digit AFTER the decimal point, so position 1 = 1, position 2 = 4, position 3 = 1, position 4 = 5. The leading 3 is the whole-number part and has no position. This is the convention used by every major Pi digit table, and it is the one this tool uses.

Can I find my birthday or phone number in Pi?

Often, yes — use the search mode. A 4-digit sequence like 0704 almost always appears within the first 10,000 digits, and 6-digit sequences usually do too. Longer strings may need millions of digits. If a sequence is not found here, it simply does not occur in the first 10,000 digits; it may still appear later.

How accurate are these digits?

Every digit is exact. They were computed with arbitrary-precision integer arithmetic using Machin's formula and verified against an independent higher-precision run, so there is no floating-point rounding anywhere in the dataset.

Why is Pi not just 22/7?

22/7 equals 3.142857…, which matches Pi only to two decimal places. Pi is irrational — it cannot be written as any fraction of two whole numbers — so 22/7, 355/113 and 3.14 are all approximations. 355/113 is the most accurate simple one, correct to six decimal places.

How do I save the digits to a file?

Choose how many digits you want, then click 'Download as .txt'. The file is built in your browser and includes a header noting the digit count and the position convention, so nothing is uploaded anywhere.
